Junior Technical Writer

Job Description

To expand our team, we are looking for a junior technical writer. As a technical writer, you are responsible for preparing our clients' documentation and manuals. A machine, for example, cannot be installed without this documentation. You explain complex information in a clear and concise manner. You write manuals in English and/or Dutch. In your role, it is important that you take ownership of your own work. You check all your work and make sure everything is worded properly. In addition, you often collaborate with other departments.

Duties and Responsibilities

•    Develop technical documentation for your target audience
•    Independently request and organize available source materials
•    Be willing to learn from knowledge gained and grow in your profession

Skills

•    Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field (MBO or HBO)
•    At least 1 year of recent experience as a technical writer in a technical environment
•    Ability to properly interpret technical system specifications (electrical schematics, P&IDs, etc.)
•    Knowledge of applicable standards and guidelines in the field of technical documentation such as the NEN 5509, European Machinery Directive and CE markings is a plus
•    Good proficiency in MS-WORD
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and/or Dutch
•    You can relate to different audiences for whom technical documentation is important
•    You pay attention to detail without losing sight of the main goal
•    You have a proactive attitude and are good at prioritizing and multitasking
•    You are a team player, but are also able to work well independently
•    You are able to work under pressure
•    You have a great sense of responsibility
•    You are open to secondment and are presentable to our clients
•    You are cost conscious and have a customer and results oriented attitude
•    You have a driver's license
